Team Member Highlight: John Nauman

Sr. Superintendent John joined the Sonoran Crest field team a little over a year ago. He has been instrumental in leading some of the most involved and highly sensitive projects within our healthcare portfolio! John’s persistence towards excellence, mentoring of start-up superintendents, and proficient utilization of time management tools allow him to make the chaos of construction look easy!

John, we value your enthusiasm and can-do attitude toward any challenge thrown at you – Rock on!

Q: What do you do as a Sr. Superintendent with Sonoran Crest Construction?

As a Sr. Superintendent, I am an innovative solution presenter to ensure projects are executed and complete to the design intent and satisfaction of the client. I lead multiple safety-centric projects in coordinating subs, trades, and vendors, maintaining scheduling expectations, providing clear communication to all team members, and financially responsible project execution. I also mentor and guide Assistant Superintendents along the pathway to becoming a Superintendent at Sonoran Crest.

Q: What do you enjoy about your role?

I personally enjoy the pressure! I enjoy challenging projects and developing an execution strategy in accomplishing what at first might have seemed impossible, into a well-organized plan of success. I also enjoy mentoring team members. It is rewarding to see those “Aha!” moments when teaching becomes implemented and understood.

Q: Why do you choose Sonoran Crest Construction?

In all my years I personally have never been with, or a part of, a company that I agree with in all aspects of its operation like I do here. Sonoran Crest has proven itself time and again in their philanthropic beliefs and dedication to employees. Collaboration with the executive leadership team in finding solutions to challenges presented in the field is an anomaly for me in my years of experience, and an approach I view as a contributor to the success of Sonoran Crest.

Team Crest is proud to recognize and support a disciplined worker like John Nauman. Join John and his colleagues at Sonoran Crest on our Career page!

Serving outside the box

At their team outing, Team Crest successfully packed 173 boxes of food for the people of the Philippines. Amazingly, these boxes will feed 115 children for one year. Way to make a difference!

We have the privilege of serving our clients, subcontractors, vendors and trade partners every day. We truly value the opportunities you allow us to do so! Partnering with Feed My Starving Children, Sonoran Crest Construction had the privilege of serving locally to feed global hunger this past Spring. Besides being a team and competing for an extra PTO day for the team who packed the most boxes, the perspective change that comes with realizing how good we have it, is humbling. We went to give but gained so much in return!

Communicating and Managing Project Schedules

Team lean communication looks like tech tools being utilized and wielded to the greatest advantage of all team members! Sonoran Crest communicates more effectively with subs and trades, provide visibility to all team members, and ensures critical path tasks are completed on time with color-coded project calendars and task invites on their phones. Given the average pace and volume of work completed, team lean calendars managed by Superintendents invites trade partner engagement and successful project completion.

Conclusion

Sonoran Crest is proud of the exemplary achievements of each of its team members that embody our vision and values. Join this team of professionals on the Career pages.
